Hi, I’m Sam Grise

Highly Collaborative & Empathetic Designer

I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a highly collaborative & empathetic Designer who is skilled at listening to users & turning their needs into business outcomes. I truly love working with a broad range of individuals. I believe that communication and understanding are at the heart of great design.

I have over 5 years of design experience and have worked in fintech and ecommerce. I hold a Masters in Digital Media Design from Harvard and a BA from the University of Vermont. I constantly seek out new skills to add to my deck.

Outside of work I love being outdoors & bringing the outdoors inside with tons of plants from paphiopedilums to monstera. I love walks in the woods, stand up paddle boarding with my dog, skiing, salsa dancing, or simply a good movie or book.

If you’re interested in my work or just want to talk about plants, I’d love to connect!

What I’m reading now

In The Lives of Puppets is an exciting and mysterious nod to Pinocchio. Klune does an engaging job of slowly unraveling a complex story with captivating detail. We meet Giovanni, his son Victor Lawson, a sadistic nurse robot, and an anxious little vacuum. This odd family curiously lives hidden away in the forest from some unknown threat.

TJ Klune writes delightful sci-fi / fantasy that tickles the mind, questions humanity, but at the same time leaves you feeling hopeful and happy.

What I’m listening to

Alexander Borodin was a 19th century composer, a successful chemist, and an advocate of women’s rights in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He’s well known for his opera Prince Igor.

I’ve been enjoying listening to his gentle and romantic compositions after recently hearing a story from my Dad that he predominantly loved to listen to records of Borodin while studying at university.

Employee of the Month - August 2021

“… I have seen the non exhaustive patience Sam constantly exhibits with myself and all her coworkers through stressful projects, accidental mistakes, and any delays. … Her work is always flawless and her organizational method of keeping track of all assets, projects and people is intimidatingly impressive. …

[W]hen tensions have been high and deadlines plentiful, Sam’s calm and consistent professionalism paired with a friendly smile makes her more than deserving of [Employee] of the Month”
